- Known as Cecchino Salviati from the name of the cardinal (Giovanni Salviati) for which he worked in Rome.
- He was a good representative of the Mannerist trend.
- His works in Rome include the "Annunciation" {4742}, the frescos in the Ricci-Sacchetti palace and in the chuches of Santa Maria dell'Anima and Santa Maria del Popolo.
- In Florence he frescoed the Audience Chamber in the Palazzo Vecchio.
- At the Uffizi are his "Christ carrying the cross" and "Charity" in the Tribune, surrounded by graceful putti, "Arthemisia laments Mausolo" in the 16th century Corridor, and the "Nativity" {4743}.
