Цечино Салвиати (1519 - 63)
Cecchino Salviati (Francesco de' Rossi), Florentine artist
Known as Cecchino Salviati from the name of the cardinal (Giovanni Salviati) for which he worked in Rome.
He was a good representative of the Mannerist trend.
His works in Rome include the "Annunciation" {4742}, the frescos in the Ricci-Sacchetti palace and in the chuches of Santa Maria dell'Anima and Santa Maria del Popolo.
In Florence he frescoed the Audience Chamber in the Palazzo Vecchio.
At the Uffizi are his "Christ carrying the cross" and "Charity" in the Tribune, surrounded by graceful putti, "Arthemisia laments Mausolo" in the 16th century Corridor, and the "Nativity" {4743}.
